Kwame - You're Fired!

Scoop Jackson wrote a good piece and actually toned down the urbano-jargon. I'm proud of him. I'm also proud that he was able to articulate - rather thoughtfully - the crusade that has been the life of Kwame Brown.

It has been terribly entertaining hasn't it, this saga with this mountain of possible potential. Will he become the latest reclamation project - boy done good, or fall into further oblivion. I'm betting on the former.

I haven't given up on him. I'm looking forward to Kwame putting on a Hawks or Cavs jersey or whomever, (i haven't even seen the salary cap situation this year), and showing that he is as much a product of the dysfunction of Washington over the past years than anything else.

Someone is going to give him a decent size contract, give him a world class shrink and a system where he can flourish. Hey, if they were able to clean up the Troubled Eddie Griffin, KB should be meat and potatoes.

i thought of posting a link to this, but coming out on this blog as a kwame supporter (even a step higher than "believer"--it has therapeutic overtones) was a big enough step for me.

also i kind of like the fact that scoop's came the day after i'd made my announcement--i'm not saying he got the idea from me, but it is nice to know that a lot of the world (or at least scoop, who presumably wouldn't be on staff there if he were completely off-base all the time) is on the same, irrationally sentimental page as i am regarding the dour mr. brown.

does anyone remember how well brown played at the beginning of his second season, i think? jordan year two? the crazy thing about him is that he's not really raw--when his head is in the game, he looks like a fully-formed nba starter. but he vacillates between this and complete and total distanced oblviousness.

good god this wizards team keeps getting more and more insane. unfortunately i don't know if i want this to be part of story of the wackiest team in the land, since it's 1) a drag and 2) seems to be the dark side of being a less-than-sturdy/stable personality in the nba

Bull. Shit. Wilbon's column on the subject is much more on point: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/03/AR2005050301622.html

Kwame is a punk-ass bitch. If he blows up elsewhere, it will only prove the truth of Jordan's name calling.
