Carmelo Anthony Holds a Child

So does TO...and Q-Rich rides around in a car. This is kind of garbage, but it has to be posted. The video for Common's "Be" starring Team Jordan. Here.

Hmmm.

this was far better when SAS showed it, without much explanation, during his interview with Melo. mostly because if you take out brand jordan (and think of it as a music video with like-minded guest stars/friends making appearances), you have to scramble to explain what they have in common, how they know each other, or what it's like when they kick it.

also this video makes common seem like that guy who's not quite too old to hang out, but seems to be doing everything he can to make people think he is.

That L-Wright shit is wild.

I really should have written an entire article about this, but how poor are the following three--

Q-Rich
Melo
T.O.

--at representing the Jordan image. Q is a poor defensive chucker for the most part, Melo is Melo, and T.O. is T.O. Jordan was all about CLASS.

I was thinking the same thing, THC. At least TO is (Moss aside) the preeminent player at his position. I could even understand Melo, since Nike invested so much into him two years ago when he was hailed as the Bird to Lebron's Magic. But Q? He was, at BEST, the 5th wheel on that Suns team last year. How could MJ allow this?

Is D Miles still on brand Jordan? I'm still hoping he breaks out sometime. Every once in awhile he'll have a great game that makes me believe he earned his draft pick, but then he goes and gets benched again.

wasn't ray allen on jordan brand? he's more MJ than melo or Q. maybe too FBP, though. as classy as MJ is, he's never been confused with an FBP.

what makes that commercial really confusing (or abundantly obvious) is that there are lots of other people on brand jordan. . .roy jones, jr. last time i checked. wasn't kidd in one of the last round of jordan commercials?

it's like they picked the most street brand jordan cats, but put them in a drearily wholesome, common-ified version of the urban experience.

common has degenerated into a pathetic joke of a rapper. seriously, his album is straight garbage (except for a few nice beats). and THIS:

"I was rollin' around, in my mind it occurred/
What if God was a her?"

HAHAHAHAH!!!!!! honestly, when i first heard that i fell out of my chair. what a fucking joke.

i don't know how anybody can think that dude is still making good music.

of course, that also applies to the roots, mos def, talib kweli, et etcetcetcccc all them other bullshit ass rappers

I agree. Rap nowadays really makes me miss the mid-late 90s. The golden age of our generation's rap music for sure. Like Common's 3 best albums, Blackstar, The Roots' 3 best albums, some Gangstar, Mos and Talib's good solo albums, Illmatic, Wu Tang and a bunch of others. I can't name 5 good rappers these days. There are a few, but it's not the same

actually there's lots of good rap coming out these days. the mid-late 90s were fun and everything but it seems like people got the jazzy samples out of their system and moved on.
