FreeDarko Corporate Annex

Sorry, but you'll have to silence all that "Pitchfork of the NBA" talk. As you've likely heard by now, Shoals himself is now a part of the NBA FanHouse, along with Skeets, Mutoni, MJD, The Big Lead, and plenty of others. We were brought together by the imagination of Jamie Mottram, who dared dream that he could put us all on one site, let us run free, and then pay us for it once a month. So far, I'm getting the chance to act a little more human than I ever do on FD, while making sure to encode our sacred agenda into every sentence. This may be AOL territory, but the idea here is to import the same wide-open spirit that makes the blogosphere such a phantasm of storage. In other words, Bethlehem Shoals isn't being enslaved to no man.

Rest assured, though, that posts meeting any or all of the following criteria will still stay penned up in this "underground" lair:

1) overtly political
2) discussing race
3) over 600 words
4) requiring photos of terrorists
5) invoking metaphysics
6) making sweeping claims about the sport
7) focusing on the concept of "style"
8) dealing with details and/or players that the MSM just ain't ready for

So really, there really shouldn't be that noticeable a difference around here. Then again, my latest one was on Rashad McCants ringtones, so the above might be less true than I think. Actually, fuck that; it had to go up on FD once before it would've made sense anywhere else.

NOTE: I didn't link to any of the bloggers I listed because that would've unfair to those I didn't list, and the cut was pretty much arbitrary. Besides, most people reading this probably already know where to find the relevant sites.

Anyone else having trouble adding the Fanhouse to their blog reader or browser? The ones I'm using are getting an XML parse error or Live Bookmark feed failed to load (Firefox message).

Is payment being made in bulk shipments of free AOL 3.5 disks? Had I saved all of the disks and cds from them over the years, I could have a very shiny and somewhat sturdy fortress built by now.

Welcome to the dark side, Shoals.

Mr. Whitefolks, I'm not getting those feed errors you speak of, but I'll link into it as best I can.

This is as good as any to try and provoke discussion about something I saw on True Hoop a while back, and yet everyone seemed to not notice:

Kim Jong Il and his love for the NBA:

You think the Bulls really fit in with JUCHE? Maybe he's a Knicks fan - the Hermit Kingdom and All Alone 33?
