Thursdays with Thurl: Laker Madness

Thurl and I are taking this column into the 22nd century, suckers. Video-style. And today, our selections pay homage to the Laker dynasty of the early 2000s.

First off, we have an awkward interview with Axl Rose that seemingly took place moments after he attended his "first basketball game," also the legendary Game 1 Iverson win over the Lakers in 2000 Finals (I could look this up right now, but I'm not gonna...I think it was 2000). Axl is on some John Kerry shit, professing his support for both the 76ers and the Lakers. I always knew he was an Iverson guy.

Then, the good folks over at Club Lakers have edited and produced a nice little segment that takes us through a game in the life of NBA referee Steve Javie, a few minutes at a time. Here we watch Steve Javie going total egomaniac on the Lake Show, set to a mega-rock soundtrack that totally parallels what's going through his mind. Peep the awesomeness here. (Quicktime or iTunes required).

Sit, bitch.
