Watch all of this interview, it's worth it.
(I'm sorry I keep relentlessly invoking Bill Russell. Working on the book has convinced me that he's underrated. Calm down, everyone knows he's the greatest center ever and all. As a cultural figure, though, few athletes have as much to offer/did as much as he did. The tragedy is that no one listened.)
As of the moment, my definitive say on NBA/Arizona. There are a lot of holes, and no one seems to know if my final conclusion is cynical, overly idealistic, or both. Was accused by one friends of "double-Obama" maneuvers. Anyway, please read, and if you can't stand the comments there, talk here.
Can't wait for Treme tonight. And please, oh please, let us see the Hawks as they should be.

Thanks for finding and sharing the Russell interview - really made my day.
Murry Nelson's bio on Russell states that his "major area of study begun as accounting, then switched to transportation, but his favorite courses were in philosophy."
The man's intriguing. Great find, Shoals.
Treme has really blossomed into a great show, that isn't quite the wire. Clarke Peters' character steals the show, imo.
Great interview, thanks for posting it.
