Will the term, "goon" endure the same fate as the term, "haymaker?"

After Temple Coach, John Chaney's use of "goon" in reference to his capo-like tactics against St. Joseph's, we have seen this term take on a life of its own. Will it become ingrained the public conscience like "haymaker?" Will it seep its way into the NBA?
