Take that Ray Ray!

Ray Allen is not only a viable MVP candidate in a contract year; he's also, unbeknownst to him, embroiled in my two favorite long-term NBA rivalries. Besides the FBP stakes hinted at last weekend (act like you know!), there's his battle with C-Webb for "most respectable art collection belonging to a basketball player." I'm inclined to give Allen the benefit of the doubt, except for the fact that he takes paintings from strangers who show up at his hotel and likes to use them as metaphors for teamwork. Webber may play it safeā€”the Webber collection, on display in Sac-town for BHM, is mostly historical artifacts. But if you dig around the Crocker site a little more, you'll find that Webber also plans to purchase a new work--chosen by museum patrons--to donate to the permanent collection. And that, my friends, is light years beyond accepting eager fans' burn offerings.

Ambassador of curatorial madness

If this was too earnest or high-toned, l need only remind you of my fascination with the National Stuttering Association. . .

"Webber began collecting African-American artifacts as a way of encouraging himself to face the struggles of life with courage and dignity."

Are Game 7s the struggles of life? Or how about accepting major $$$ from boosters?

What struggle has Chris Webber ever faced other than trying to get it up for Tyra Banks.

it would be hilarious if it came out that c-webb had been using illegal money from michigan boosters to buy art. instead of getting free throwbacks and kicks from foot locker, he used to get free coffee table books from barnes and noble.

anyway, neither of them dudes got anything on john mcenroe in the art collector department. my boi got it on lock!!
