You and me, we belong together

I can't front, I've been a little preoccupied lately with my other place of business. Plus it hasn't quite sunk in yet that soon I'll have another NBA season on my hands, hence the lack of preliminary bustle.

I did want to make sure, though, that everyone took notice of two watershed moments on the ESPN front page as of right now.

For one, I've found what SAS is indeed up to within the network. That or they're more shook by a certain strain of blogdom than they'd ever let on.

And, from the "Bethlehem Shoals knows his children" files, the nail in the legend of my favorite football player:

Actually, since I'm all NFL-ed up I might as well ask this belatedly: did I miss out on some super-deep major media stupidity over Terrence Kiel's drug of choice? Seems that playing to a mainstream audience there would just be an excuse for bad reporting.

ha! i visited the worldwide leader and did a double take on that headline. then i just assumed they were applying the male version of drama queens to today's close games, not shouting out kay slay. but troubled henry makes you wonder...

i never thought that we came up with the phrase "troubled griffin;" the recluse merely observed that eg was ALWAY referred to as such. this is more an indication that henry is in fantastic company.

Totally unrelated to Troubled Henry, but I wanted to pass along this excellent Johnny Ludden article on Zarko Paspalj and the history of the Euro. I love the way Zarko (the elder) sees himself as this proud fallen leader of the Euro Revolution. In addition to forming one of the most dynamic Euro two-somes of all time with Uwe Blab (conclusively proving that Euros can indeed be White Fan Favorites), Zarko also once wandered into my pops' office and asked if there was a nearby place to smoke. True story.
