The Macrophenomenal Website (And All It Contains)

Ordinarily, we'd take Opening Day to giggle, shake, and look forward to another season of NBA action. But this year, we already went and presaged the whole thing. In case you care, Bulls/Bucks is the real game to watch, and if you've got any fine wines stashed for the occasion, save them for Wednesday's Knicks/Suns answer-fest.

Instead, WELCOME TO OUR BOOK'S HIGHLY ADVANCED WEBSITE. Of special interest shall be the media page, which has embeddable preview widgets and our theme song. And kindly swing by Ye Olde FD Imperial Outlet, where you can pre-order new shirts and limited edition prints of the book's art. In the future leading up to the book's release, there will be more previews, some other media surprises, and the long-rumored Silverbird Stats Corner.

Anyway, feel free to turn this into an open thread about whatever, and we'll be around soon with a new post. Hopefully, this other site will tide you over, and maybe even convince a few more people to buy the book itself.

My God.

I can't believe how amazing this reads and looks. This is going to kill, and has just usurped everything else as the piece of media I'm most looking forward to.

Everything looks fantastic. I can't believe you didn't do a print of that TMac piece.

And no Iver Anderson? My girl is disappointed.

My god. I wasn't going to pick this up, but you just made a sale. And I'll echo Mr. Six: where can I get a copy of that McGrady illustration? It's perfect.

I hate TMAC. The book looks great. I will force those who know me to gift me a copy. Then I will gift them a copy. It will be like watching the Nuggets play Golden State.

Visit Portland ME.

I cannot wait. The style is even more FreeDarkoly exceptional than previously glimpsed. This book will have an effect on the game - players are going to read it and change accordingly. It's going to be on Phil Jackson's book club.

Freakin' Arenas!

I'm definitely snagging a print. Well done, fellas.

And, if I may briefly be a design fanboy, your Tw Cen MT font usage here has some serious swagger.

Love it.

FYI: I think you're obligated to pretend that you don't care about the sales of your book (google the Cobain theorem).

However, I was really on the fence about buying your book before and after seeing your website I'm getting out my credit card.

So on the marketing tip, Huzzah!

The web site is an amazing work in itself. Now I'm trying to think of all the people who might possibly appreciate this book that I can gift it to.

Now I have to wait both for the book and the sledgehammer Amare tshirt to arrive in the mail.

This looks incredible, guys. Congrats and lots of success with it!

OH MY GOD! This is breathtakingly brilliant! Now if there only was a way to buy the book and/or prints in Poland, then I would simply implode. Unfortunately, I can't order this via international mail - I wouldn't risk to get it ruined by the post-office butchers. I'll have to wait till someone I know goes to the States and picks it up for me personally. Damn.

The graphic content is just perfect. Simply genius!

Pre-ordered on 5/28. Ship that Bitch!

Seriously though, cheers and congrats. Good to see those who had some fraction of doubt jumping on board.

Trying to decide which print to buy though. If we got a break on the price I'd probably buy all 4 to be honest.

Six Months Early:

"Mar 09 L.A. Lakers@Portland: Sometimes, it's okay to cry. Let's face it: Portland will be movin' on up, but the Lakers will expose all that's left for them to learn. So I get it's a positive experience for everyone."

L.A. is killing it.

I have never spent much time on your site, but I just took a few minutes to look at the book preview and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be getting a copy of this, and probably be checking your site more frequently.

Oh, and the artwork is amazing. Whoever did it is an absolute genius.

When I first heard about the book, I thought that it would do well at an Ego Trip-level. Now that I've seen the excerpts, I think it has a chance to do SERIOUS numbers and cement itself in pop culture.

I can't even remember the last time I bought a book that wasn't for school, but not only am I copping this as soon as I can, I'm going to proselytize for FD.

Congrats, guys.

i took my best guess on who had copies and there they were: five prereleased copies of the tome, looking too oversized to be a children's book, too undersized to be a textbook. what i've read so far has been awesome, and the graphics are absolutely stunning. i'm already hoping for more books.

however, i think len bias was the second overall pick of the 1986 draft (page 43), unless i'm reading it wrong.
