The Tide Giveth and Taketh

Next week, I will return to FreeDarko, and hopefully The Baseline will load reliably. In the meantime, you should check out this 2003 Roger Beebe video, which I just saw at an INCITE! screening on the subject of sports and aesthetics.

please tell the sporting news to stop paying/hiring their IT people minimum wage. the posts are great but the internet-friendliness of it is just awful. i'm sure you know this already, but know that we notice.

Please dump the Baseline. Focus on FreeDarko. It feels like a sellout.

P--It's also making everyone's job at Sporting News a living hell. Trust me, we all want this fixed as bad as you do.

Other P--You light up my life.

If they weren't cost-prohibitive, magazines would would be an awesome FD medium.

Is Rasheed Wallace Scottish then?

Anyone else intrigued by James Johnson out of Wake. Blah blah summer league doesn't count, whatever. but the kid can board, pass, run, and finish as well as occasionally look totally lost. FD? Plus he is a suburban fan boy dream...Black Belt and a Baller and a Chicago Bull to boot. This is some Micheal Jordan meets Ralph Machio goodness. Can't wait for the UFC/NBA PR machine to really start rollin. And if he starts taking Ty Thomas minutes then we would have a perfect steel cage/skeleton/shower costume throw down.

Dang I hate baseball.

Oh awesome, Roger Beebe. I used to be a student of his at UF. Neat guy. Always awesome to see him doing stuff.

I sent Roger the link to this and he was stoked (even though I've been trying to get him into this blog for years to no avail). His only downfall is that he is a Duke alumni and reps them hard both off and on the court.

Holopawer, as in, the G-ville band? Too many coincidences on one comment thread!

Citation to Marcus Rediker pretty much undermines the whole piece.

(just kidding ... mostly ...)

It is quite a topic people do sports they start to look better and they try to follow a trend. It would be great to post about it at Sportsbook Lines forum
