Fields of Garnish

Check out "Lamar Modem," my first foray—along with some help from my FanHouse comrades—into NBA video art. "Stop, Or LeBron Will Shoot" was going to be next, but after last night, who knows? Really though, I did say at the time, and forever, that Rondo was taking too little money.

Speaking of me writing else, this column on the Suns and the nature of revolution will appeal to readers here.

Shoals, if you were LeBron do you strangle Mo Williams or Mike Brown first?

Rondo is the business. DWill...DSwill.

I don't want to betray my rooting interest by always talking about the Lakers, but I'd be very interested in sorting out our in-the-moment feelings about one of my favorite long-treasured FD Party lines: namely the "Lamar Odom is not a fuckup" meme.

Lamar won me over finally and forever when he played with a dozen injuries- including a shoulder that required surgery and wouldn't let him get his arm above his head- in 2007. That was the season, remember, when he played after losing his infant son, on a still-middling, pre-Pau Gasol Lakers team that stupidly insisted he could be the Pippen to Kobe's Michael. He hauled it out there for 4 games against Phoenix in the first round and averaged nearly 14 boards a game, out-heart-ing pretty much everybody in the league and proving himself to be a meaningful soul, no matter what anybody else might say.

Now he's receded somewhat behind the more famous/crazy faces on this LA team, and I'm not sure what to make of his place in their game and what it means to me/us. I sort of wanted to write about this after he made those comments about Anthony Randolph in Oakland last year. Food for thought, I guess.

Rondo is such an unexpected surprise. No one liked this guy to be anything big at Kentucky, and now I bet he'll whoop Orlando in the next round (that's right, lookin ahead).

So underrated, I bet you none of the guys taken to point a team this year will be this big a hit.
