Each Day is a Lifetime, 8.20.08

Just a quick thing or to from me today...I hate August.

Trouble seems to follow Antoine Walker everywhere he goes. Even to R. Kelly's favorite spot, the Rock N' Roll McDonald's.

I eat at a certain Mexican restaurant only because they have a Robert Pack jersey on the wall. Bless you.

"The franchise is also leaving some KeyArena furniture and equipment in Seattle, noting it will take 150 courtside seats, 24 office chairs, three televisions and other equipment that is still being used by the WNBA team."

hahah, it sounds like a divorce settlement between two really petty people who hate each other. seattle wanted to make it work, but it just didnt put it in the effort, so the sonics are leaving town to shack up with a mysterious man they barely know in oklahoma city.

What a sad story Mr. Rider turned out to be. After he got traded to Atlanta, it was all down hill. After the Hawks, he had an opportunity to become the third option with the Lakers in 2001 and totally blew it. I wonder what would have happened if he would have been allowed to stay with Portland. Anyhow, dude could really ball, but never could get his head straight. I always remember a highlight from his rookie year where he had this monster block shot on Pat Ewing in the Garden. Oakland used to produce some real NBA talent...GP, B-Shaw, J.R. Rider, J-Kidd...

Slam did an article on him a few issues back. Pretty insightful too - spoke with old teachers, coaches etc. He was arrested recently (as in the last few months) for refusing to pay a cab fare and beating up/abusing the driver (or something similar - I don't have the magazine with me). Pretty sad story. The East Bay Funk dunk blew my freaking mind as a 12 year old. I was never even able to get the ball through my legs and try to lay the ball in, let alone dunk it.
